Advice for #SPLC: “Stop lumping in Christians and conservatives with neo-Nazis and skin heads. Or if you’re going to do it, let everyone know you are just a far-left advocacy group and nothing more”

The SPLC Is in Serious Legal Jeopardy for Defamation Regarding Its ‘Hate Group’ Labels
by Tyler O’Neil
June 20, 2018

On Monday, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) settled a defamation suit filed by Muslim reformer Maajid Nawaz, whom the SPLC maligned as an “anti-Muslim extremist.” On Tuesday, PJ Media reported that no fewer than 60 organizations are considering similar lawsuits against the SPLC. The organization is still facing a lawsuit from D. James Kennedy Ministries (DJKM), a Christian organization falsely labeled a “hate group.” READ MORE

“El Al plane took off 75 minutes late due to demand by four men, who refused to speak to female flight attendants to solve matter”

NY-Israel flight delayed by ultra-Orthodox men’s refusal to sit next to women
by Staff
June 23, 2018

An El Al flight from New York to Israel this week was delayed for over an hour due to the refusal by a number of ultra-Orthodox men to sit next to women…One of them, he said, was “particularly devout and ascetic,” having got on the plane with his eyes closed and keeping them shut for the duration of the flight in an apparent effort to avoid looking at any woman on board. THE MEDIA LINE Israeli Flag Carrier Reeling After Violating Ban on Discriminating to Satisfy Haredi Passengers Despite a court ruling prohibiting the moving of passengers to accommodate demands by those who won’t sit next to a man or a woman, the crew in question allowed a stalemate to continue for an hour before caving in to the prohibited path…That apparently sent the cash-poor carrier’s boss into action. ElAl chief Gonen Usishkin issued the statement that probably should have followed the court ruling. He said, “from now on, a passenger who refuses to sit next to another passenger will be immediately removed from the flight.”

Democratic Jews have refused to mobilize to oppose the antisemites in their quarters. Indeed, in some cases they are supported outright

JERUSALEM POST
The Peril of Politicized Antisemitism
by Caroline B. Glick
June 22, 2018

Rising stars in the Democratic Party, including Rep. Ellison and Women’s March leaders Tamika Mallory and Linda Sarsour along with the Congressional Black Caucus embrace Louis Farrakhan, and defend his notorious, virulent hatred of Jews. They demonize Israel and its Jewish supporters. Far from being attacked or otherwise denounced for their actions, these Democrats are advanced and promoted. Ellison is the vice-chairman of the Democratic National Committee. Mallory and Sarsour, Maxine Waters and other members of the CBC are feted by party leaders including Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. READ MORE

“The charge that the border holding areas are akin to Nazi extermination camps does not resonate well with the public, even as Trump polls on illegal immigration better than do his critics”

AMERICAN GREATNESS
Why This Immigration Psychodrama Will Also Pass
by Victor Davis Hanson
June 25th, 2018

A month from now there will be a new manufactured news story that Donald Trump is savage, represents an existential danger, or is unhinged. We will hear of another Trump official cornered and driven out from a liberal-owned Beltway or New York City restaurant. An unhinged Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) will rant some more about impeachment. And then the current hysteria over the border detainments will be filed, and go the way of the “s—hole countries” frenzy or Melania’s jacket melodrama…So last week’s Holocaust/Japanese Internment hysteria narrative at the border will soon fade, too. CITY JOURNAL Heather MacDonald: Who’s Really to Blame at the Border? So it was a ruse. The hysteria over the separation of illegal-alien asylum-seekers from their children (or their purported children) was in large part pretextual. The real target of rage was the Trump administration’s policy of prosecuting all illegal border-crossers for the federal misdemeanor of illegal entry.

LGBTQ Activist: After Last Year’s Ejection of Jewish Marchers, I Won’t Feel Safe at Dyke March
by Staff
June 22, 2018

Dahlia St. Knives, a transsexual activist and writer, said she doesn’t feel “safe” at the Chicago Dyke March as a black Jewish woman, after organizers failed to apologize for the discrimination of two Jewish women at the event last year. At the annual LGBTQ march in Chicago in 2017, organizers of the event demanded that Jewish participants leave because they carried a rainbow flag superimposed with a Star of David. The incident was described by Laurel Grauer, an official with the group A Wider Bridge, which connects LGBTQ Jews in the United States with their counterparts in Israel, who was one of the individuals ejected from the Dyke March. Top Palestinian negotiator accuses Kushner, Greenblatt of seeking to topple PA
by Staff
June 23, 2018

Top Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat on Saturday accused the US peace team of working to topple the Palestinian Authority, as the American envoys wrapped up a visit to the region aimed to push the Trump administration’s peace plan and enlist humanitarian aid for the Gaza Strip…“The goal behind this is to sustain the coup [by which Hamas seized Gaza from Abbas in 2007] and keep Gaza separated from the West Bank on the way to creating a mini-state in Gaza while bringing down the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank,” Erekat told Voice of Palestine radio, according to the PA’s official Wafa news agency. The courageous Mosul Iraq journalist-blogger who kept his eye on the Islamic State, from the inside

NATIONAL REVIEW
‘Trust No One, Document Everything’
by Jay Nordlinger
June 21, 2018

Omar Mohammed is an historian and a “citizen journalist,” as some people say. He is an Iraqi from Mosul, a city that was occupied by the Islamic State from June 2014 to July 2017…He was born in 1986, during the Iran–Iraq War. His father was among the conscripts in the Iraqi army. The war finally ended in 1988, having begun in 1980. Saddam Hussein and the Ayatollah Khomeini decided they had killed enough people for no real reason. That’s how Mohammed puts it to me, with perfect sardonicism. READ MORE

Using children to further political goals: US media take a leaf right out of the Palestinian book

JNS
From Israel to America: The dangerous weaponization of children
by Eldad Beck
June 21, 2018

This “conscientious mobilization,” similar to that which accuses Israel of intentionally murdering children, not only turns children into political soldiers, but increases the risk to their security and well-being. The Palestinians understand that images of children wounded by IDF gunfire are the best tactic for promoting hatred of Israel in the world—just as human traffickers who smuggle illegal aliens into Europe understand that images of children who drowned in the Mediterranean Sea are the best guarantee for the continuation of their business. Moe Berg: “The Catcher Was a Spy” is “a dutiful laundry list of a biopic, ticking off boxes in Berg’s career — brainiac, athlete, loner, secular Jew, secret agent”

Paul Rudd plays a Jewish baseball player who becomes a spy — and yes, he is a real person
by Michael O’Sullivan
June 19, 2018

Morris “Moe” Berg was an odd duck. The baseball player and coach, who played 15 seasons for a handful of major league teams, including the Washington Senators in the early 1930s, came to be known as the “brainiest guy in baseball.” He spoke several languages…He had an undergraduate degree from Princeton and law degree from Columbia…Despite being a mediocre player, he was a favorite of sports journalists, whom he entertained with his erudition. He was also a U.S. government spy. READ MORE

Krauthammer: “What began as an experiment has become the very heart of the Jewish people – its cultural, spiritual, and psychological center, soon to become its demographic center as well. Israel is the hinge”

JERUSALEM POST
A Tribute to Charles Krauthammer
by David M. Weinberg
June 22, 2018

Krauthammer understood that American Jewry was dying. “Nothing will revive the Jewish communities of Eastern Europe and the Islamic world. And nothing will stop the rapid decline by assimilation of Western Jewry.” The dynamics of assimilation were inexorable in America and elsewhere, he wrote. Israel, Krauthammer understood, was different. “Exceptional,” he called it – because Israel was about “reattachment of Russian and Romanian, Uzbeki and Iraqi, Algerian and Argentinean Jews to a distinctively Hebraic culture,” and this gave it civilizational and societal staying power for the long term. Israel “is now the principal drama of Jewish history,” he wrote. READ MORE

AISH Farewell to Charles Krauthammer Krauthammer was trained from a young age in the rigors of honest debate and critical thinking. He attended Orthodox day school, studying traditional Jewish texts for half the day and becoming fluent in Hebrew. His father, an observant Jew, strongly encouraged Talmud study, and while his classmates were out playing baseball, young Charles endured many extra after-school study sessions
