Putin grants pardon to Israeli-American jailed in Russia

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin officially pardoned Naama Issachar, an Israeli-American woman jailed in Russia for on drug-related charges on Wednesday. The decree was published on the Kremlin website, citing “principles of humanity” as the guiding force behind the decision. According to the document, Naama is formally spared the rest of the 7.5-year jail sentence, meaning she can walk free from the moment the decree was signed.
