Knesset Ethics Committee suspends Balad MKs Zoabi, Ghattas and Zahalka for meeting with terrorists’ families [PMW VIDEO]

Israeli Arab MKs temporarily suspended from Knesset

The Knesset Ethics Committee temporarily suspended Israeli Arab MKs Hanin Zoabi, Basel Ghattas and Jamal Zahalka from parliament Monday, after determining a meeting they held last week with terrorists’ families constituted conduct unbecoming. The three MKs belong to the Balad faction, one of three factions, alongside Ra’am-Ta’al and Hadash, comprising the Joint Arab List. Scathing criticism from across the political spectrum was leveled at the three over the meeting, held last Tuesday in east Jerusalem. Between Friday, when news of the meeting broke, and Monday morning, more than 450 public complaints were filed against Zoabi, Ghattas and Zahalka with the Ethics Committee. Dozens of MKs filed grievances with the committee as well, as did Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. READ MORE
